Star Wars is practically a staple of life. Starting with the first Star Wars movie in the end 70s, the franchise is bringing together people of all generations. It’s a part of our culture, and most of us can feel a strong emotional connection. No surprise that Star Wars Toys are among the most popular. There are vintage Star Wars action figures from the 70s that can fetch hundreds of dollars. Some even sell for thousands.
Luckily for us, most kids are not looking for collectibles. They want fun with cool toys, and they want to play with them every day.
My personal Star Wars favorites are the Lego and Duplo products. I’d sit in the living room for hours “putting stuff together” and letting my imagination run wild. If my parents bought me Legos for Christmas (and they bought me Star Wars Legos even then) I’d probably have the box empty by lunchtime, with everything assembled. Then disassembled by dinnertime, I wood invent some crazy contraption.
The craze about Star Wars isn’t going away any time soon, with more movies to come. It’s just one of those things that stick around. Apart from Star Wars movies, we have TV shows, video games, countless types of toys, costumes… everything. We can find literally any type of purchasable object or idea with Star Wars attached to it.
Star Wars toys from Hasbro and Playskool have given the franchise its biggest boost. So did the vehicle model series from Hot Wheels. Definitely something to check out if you haven’t already. If your kid wants a toy but doesn’t know (specifically) what, they probably want something from Star Wars. Even The Avengers and Jurassic Park fall flat in comparison.
Yes, the Christmas season can be tough. Toys fly off the shelves, stores are crowded, and it feels like everyone in the country is zooming along the roads. Picking up specifics for your kids gets more and more difficult the closer we inch to the twenty fifth of December. Some items are downright impossible to find on Christmas week. Have you seen the 1996 movie Jingle All the Way with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad? Shopping for that one special toy can be exactly like that. So it’s best to do your shopping early. If that’s not possible, brace yourself :))
So if you can’t decide on what to get your kids for the Holidays – try for something Star Wars. The new movie has a male and a female hero, so boys and girls alike are interested. There’s so much stuff in stores you can’t really go wrong. There’s a Star Wars gift out there for every kid, and some for the older ones too. Happy Holidays!
